Asia Bioenergy Technologies Bhd. (ABIO) : The investment group received approval from the stock exchange for an extension of up to six months to complete a share placement, according to a company statement. Asia Bioenergy was unchanged at 6.5 sen.
ECS ICT Bhd. (ECS) : The distributor of computer-related products said it was awarded distribution rights for Apple Inc.’s iPad in the Southeast Asian nation. ECS was unchanged at 1.54 ringgit.
Hwang-DBS (Malaysia) Bhd. (HDBS MK): The stock brokerage said net income in the second quarter ended Jan. 31 rose 38 percent from a year earlier to 23.2 million ringgit ($7.7 million), according to a stock exchange filing. The company proposed an interim dividend of 5 sen a share, compared with 2.5 sen a year earlier, it said. The stock gained 1.8 percent to 2.25 ringgit.
Jaya Tiasa Holdings Bhd. (JT) : The timber producer and oil palm planter said net income in the third quarter ended Jan. 31 almost tripled from a year earlier to 39.9 million ringgit on higher selling prices. Jaya rallied 6.2 percent to 6.16 ringgit.
SapuraCrest Petroleum Bhd. (SCRES) : The oil and gas services provider said profit in the fourth quarter ended Jan. 31 surged 79 percent from a year earlier to 72.7 million ringgit, according to a statement to the stock exchange. The company proposed a final dividend of 5.5 sen a share, compared with 4 sen a share a year earlier. The stock fell 1.1 percent to 3.55 ringgit.
