Vietnam’s Stocks: Duc Thanh Wood, PetroVietnam Fertilizer
Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, dropped 0.4 percent to 459.52.
Duc Thanh Wood Processing Joint-Stock Co. (GDT VN), which manufactures, distributes and exports furniture for interior decoration, rose 4 percent to 18,300 dong. Duc Thanh Wood’s profit surged 71 percent to 3.7 billion dong in the first two months of 2011, according to a statement on the exchange website.
PetroVietnam Fertilizer & Chemical Joint-Stock Co. (DPM VN) dropped 0.9 percent to 35,200 dong. The Ho Chi Minh City-based company forecast profit will drop 16 percent to 1.4 billion dong in 2011, according to a document on its website released before a shareholder meeting.
