Basic Energy Shares Rise Most in a Month on Study for Geothermal Project

Basic Energy Corp. (BSC) shares climbed the most in a month in Manila trading after the company said it hired Filtech Energy Drilling Corp. to conduct a so-called pre- feasibility study for a 20-megawatt geothermal energy project.

The stock increased 3.1 percent to 16.5 centavos as of 9:52 a.m. in Manila, bound for the steepest gain since Feb. 25. The Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 0.4 percent.
