Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in French trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are from the prior close.
The CAC 40 Index rose 1.4 percent to 3,968.84 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Paris, as a report showed French business confidence unexpectedly gained in March. The broader SBF 120 Index climbed 1.4 percent.
Electricite de France SA (EDF FP): The company’s EDF EN Canada unit said it signed two 20-year power purchase agreements with Hydro-Quebec for wind energy projects totaling 49.2 megawatts of energy. EDF rose 0.6 percent to 28.95 euros.
Esker SA (ALESK) : The software company said net income for 2010 totaled 1.47 million euros ($2.08 million) compared with 1.16 million euros the previous year. Esker fell 3.4 percent to 6.91 euros.
Stentys (STNT FP): The maker of stents to treat heart disease reported a net loss of 7.8 million euros for 2010 compared with a loss of 4.6 million euros the year before. Stentys (STNT) rose 0.4 percent to 24.79 euros.
