Shanghai Taisheng Plans $15.3 Million Plant for Wind Towers

Shanghai Taisheng Wind Power Equipment Co. plans to invest 100 million yuan ($15.3 million) in a factory to make towers for wind turbines in the western region of Xinjiang.

The structures will be able to support turbines with a capacity of between 2.5 megawatts and 5 megawatts each, the company said today in a filing to the Shenzhen stock exchange.

The Chinese manufacturer said it will set up a unit to manage construction of the production plant in Hami. It will use 30 million yuan of the investment as registered capital of the unit, Xinjiang Taisheng Wind Power Equipment Co.
