Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 12:30 p.m. lunch break in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 9.01, or 0.9 percent, to 1,012.30.
Land & Houses Pcl (LH TB), Thailand’s biggest home builder by market value, climbed 3.7 percent to 5.55 baht, set for the largest increase since Feb. 17. Land & Houses sold its 24.99 percent stake in Bangkok Chain Hospital Pcl (KH) for 3.53 billion baht ($116.6 million), the company said in a regulatory filing on March 18. Bumrungrad Hospital Pcl (BH) bought Bangkok Chain’s shares at 8.50 baht each.
Bumrungrad (BH TB), the nation’s second-largest listed hospital operator, gained 0.7 percent to 35.75 baht. Bangkok Chain rose 2.1 percent to 7.30 baht, on course for the highest close since it listed in 2004.
Siam Industrial Credit Pcl (SICCO) , a financial company, increased 3.8 percent to 4.36 baht, on course for the steepest advance since March 3. Siam Commercial Bank Pcl (SCB), Siam Industrial’s biggest shareholder, plans to hold a public auction for its stake in the financial company, it said in a regulatory filing today. Siam Commercial (SCB TB), Thailand’s fourth- biggest lender by assets, rose 0.5 percent to 102 baht.
