Vietnam Stocks: Dien Quang, Bien Hoa Sugar, Gia Lai Cane Sugar

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.

The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, declined for a fourth day, losing 0.7 percent to 460.53, the lowest level since March 4.

Dien Quang Joint-Stock Co. (DQC VN), a light-bulb maker, rose 1.3 percent to 24,100 dong. The Ho Chi Minh City-based company said fourth-quarter net income rose 28 percent to 32.6 billion dong ($1.6 million), according to a statement on the bourse’s website.

Sugar Stocks: Bien Hoa Sugar Joint-Stock Co. (BHS VN), a sugar manufacturer based in the southern province of Dong Nai, dropped 1.3 percent to 30,000 dong. Gia Lai Cane Sugar Thermoelectricity Joint-Stock Co. (SEC VN), a producer of sugar cane and electricity, fell 1.4 percent to 27,300 dong.

Sugar in New York may fall as low as 22.89 cents a pound after forming a head-and-shoulders pattern, signaling a 12 percent decline, according to technical analysis by Societe Generale SA.
