Malaysia’s central bank will hold a briefing on enhancing credit card guidelines at 11 a.m.

WHAT TO WATCH: * APFT Bhd. (APFT MK), a pilot training company, to begin trading on Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. Sold shares at 50 sen/each in IPO. * Malaysia Building Society Bhd. ((MBS MK) to sign 500 million- ringgit ($164 million) Islamic financing agreement with Employees Provident Fund at 9 a.m. * Scientex Bhd. (SCI MK) and Mitsui Chemical Tohcello Inc. to make corporate announcement at 3 p.m. * Karambunai Corp. (KRBN MK) signed agreement for mixed development in Sabah. * Kencana Petroleum Bhd. (KEPB MK), an oil and gas services company, said 2Q net income climbed 57% to 50.6 million ringgit on higher sales. * KUB Malaysia Bhd. (KUBM MK) won 22.2 million-ringgit maintenance contract from Telekom Malaysia Bhd. (T MK) * Faber Group Bhd. (FAB MK) proposed capital reduction to reduce accumulated losses. Will cancel 75% of par value of ordinary shares. * Parkson Holdings Bhd. (PKS MK) signed agreement with PT Tozy Bintang Sentosa Group to open and expand Parkson department stores in Indonesia. * SP Setia Bhd. (SPSB MK), a property developer, said 1Q net income jumped 62% to 62 million ringgit on higher sales. * UMW Holdings Bhd. (UMWH MK) won $41.5 million contract for jack-up rig from Petronas Carigali Sdn.

MARKETS: * Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index was little-changed. * The MSCI Asia Pacific Index dropped 0.3 percent. * The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.4 percent. * Palm oil May-delivery futures fell 0.3 percent to 3,359 ringgit a metric ton.
