Mitsui Chemicals Cuts Rates at Chiba Naphtha Cracker, ICIS Says

Mitsui Chemicals Inc. (4183) cut the operating rate of its naphtha cracker in Chiba, Japan, following the March 11 earthquake, ICIS reported, citing an unidentified company official. Exact production levels weren’t given, ICIS said.

The plant has the capacity to make 617,000 metric tons per year of ethylene, Bloomberg data show. Mitsui also owns a 450,000 tons-an-annum plant at Osaka.
