HeiTech Padu, IOI, KESM, Mudajaya: Malaysia Equity Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the previous close, unless stated otherwise.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBMKLCI) Index rose 0.1 percent to 1,517.66.

HeiTech Padu Bhd. (HEIT) : The computer-services company said it signed an exclusive agreement with Thales Netherland B.V. to deliver a combat management system in Malaysia. The shares rose 3.5 percent to 1.18 ringgit.

IOI Corp. (IOI MK): The Employees Provident Fund, Malaysia’s biggest pension fund, bought 4 million shares in the nation’s second-biggest palm oil producer, a stock filing showed. IOI was unchanged at 5.72 ringgit.

KESM Industries Bhd. (KESM) : The Malaysian assembler of electronic components said profit in the second quarter ended Jan. 31 rose 27 percent from a year earlier to 3.31 million ringgit earlier on higher sales. KESM was unchanged at 2.21 ringgit.

Mudajaya Group Bhd. (MDJ) : The builder said it proposed a bonus share issue to shareholders on the basis of one new share for every three held, according to a company statement. The stock climbed 2.6 percent to 4.70 ringgit.
