New Gold, Silver Wheaton: Canadian Equity Market Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Canadian trading.

New Gold Inc. (NGD) : The gold producer was cut to “market perform” from “buy” at Cormark Securities Inc. The 12-month price estimate is C$12.00.

Newalta Corp. (NAL) : The industrial recycler was cut to “market perform” from “buy” at Cormark Securities Inc. The 12-month price estimate is C$14.75.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM) : The maker of the Blackberry said Keith Pardy, its chief marketing officer, will leave the company for personal reasons and will stay on for six months to assist with a transition. His departure may have been predicated on the perception that Research In Motion is losing a public relations conflict with Google Inc.’s Android and Apple Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. said.

Silver Wheaton Corp. (SLW) : The silver producer was cut to “sector perform” from “outperform” at Royal Bank of Canada. The 12-month price estimate is C$48.00.
