DEME, Van Oord Win A$260 Million Contract With Gladstone Ports

Dredging Environmental & Marine Engineering NV and Van Oord Groep NV won a dredging contract valued at A$260 million ($264 million) to accommodate construction of the Curtis liquefied natural gas project.
Queensland Gladstone Ports Corp. awarded the contract to a joint venture of Dredging International Australia) Pty Ltd. and Van Oord Australia Pty Ltd., Zwijndrecht, Belgium-based DEME said today in an e-mailed statement. Dredging works will start on June 2 and last 40 weeks, according to the statement.
