Sony, Fujifilm Aim to Mass Produce Flexible Chips, Nikkei Says

Sony Corp. (6758) and Fujifilm Holdings Corp. (4901) are among 27 companies teaming up with Japan’s government to mass produce flexible integrated circuits by 2015, the Nikkei newspaper reported, without saying where it got the information.

Tokyo Electron Ltd. (8035), Sumitomo Chemical Co. and Toppan Printing Co. will also join the effort to develop circuits that can be printed on plastic sheets 1/100th the thickness of current circuit boards, the paper said.
