Nelson Files Holocaust Insurance Claims Legislation, Herald Says

Florida Senator Bill Nelson has submitted legislation to allow hundreds of Holocaust survivors to sue European insurance companies for millions of dollars in unpaid claims, the Miami Herald reported, citing a statement by Nelson released Wednesday.

Samuel Dubbin, an attorney for a South Florida survivors’ group, said experts have estimated that Allianz SE (ALV), Generali and other insurers sold Eastern European Jews 879,000 life insurance policies with a current value of about $18 billion, the newspaper reported.
