French Stocks: Accor, Alcatel, Club Mediterranee, Groupe Flo

France’s CAC 40 Index (CAC) gained 26.44, or 0.7 percent, to 4,060.76 at the 5:35 p.m. close in Paris. The SBF 120 Index increased 0.6 percent.

The following shares rose or fell in Paris. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Alcatel-Lucent SA (ALU) jumped 6.4 percent to 3.83 euros amid speculation that a Chinese company may be interested in bidding for France’s largest telecommunications equipment maker.

“There’s speculation in the market today of a takeover for Alcatel from a Chinese group,” said Jean-Michel Salvador, an analyst at AlphaValue in Paris. Alix Cavallari, an Alcatel spokeswoman, declined to comment. The stock pared earlier gains after Huawei Technologies Co. said it has no plans to bid for Alcatel.

Club Mediterranee SA (CU FP) climbed 0.9 percent to 17.05 euros. The French operator of worldwide resorts said consolidated revenue rose 15 percent to 337 million euros ($467 million) in the quarter ended Jan. 31. Winter bookings at Feb. 26 were up 9.7 percent, it said.

Accor SA (AC) , Europe’s largest hotelier, gained 1.7 percent to 33.5 euros.

Groupe Flo SA (FLO) jumped 7.3 percent to 5.72 euros. The restaurant chain and catering outlet operator said 2010 net income rose to 15.3 million euros from 5.9 million euros.

Iliad SA (ILD) advanced 5 percent to 84.74 euros. France Telecom SA and Iliad have signed a national roaming agreement for their French 2G networks and will extend the accord to cover their 3G networks, the companies said.
