Eiffage, Saint Gobain, Thales, Valeo: French Equity Preview

The following stocks may be active in France. Symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the previous close.

France’s benchmark CAC 40 Index dropped for a fourth day, losing 0.1 percent to 4,009.64 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Paris. The broader SBF-120 Index slid 0.1 percent to 2,991.80.

Eiffage SA (FGR FP): France’s third-largest construction company estimated sales this year will rise 3 percent to 13.7 billion euros. Eiffage fell 0.8 percent to 40.35 euros.

Cie. de Saint-Gobain SA (SGO FP): Europe’s biggest supplier of building materials said it won’t rush the initial public offering of a minority stake of its packaging unit if market conditions aren’t appropriate. Saint-Gobain gained 0.3 percent to 40.78 euros.

Thales SA (HO FP): Europe’s largest defense-electronics producer said its net loss shrank to 45 million euros last year and it expects to “swiftly return to profitability.” Thales rose 0.2 percent to 26.64 euros.

Valeo SA (FR FP): France’s second-largest auto-parts supplier posted a full-year profit on an Asian-led recovery in auto demand, beating analysts’ expectations and its own forecasts. Valeo fell 2.8 percent to 40.82 euros.
