Denizbank, Enka Insaat, Turkcell: Turkey Equity Market Preview

Turkey’s benchmark ISE National 100 index fell 1,527.08, or 2.4 percent, to a five-month low of 63,131.68 yesterday.

Denizbank AS (DENIZ TI): The Turkish unit of Belgium’s Dexia SA will apply to regulators to sell as much as 2 billion liras ($1.2 billion) of bonds with different maturities, it said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange after the market closed yesterday. Denizbank declined 15 kurus, or 1.4 percent, to 10.95 liras.

Enka Insaat ve Sanayi AS (ENKAI TI): The Turkish construction company signed a $1.8 billion contract with partners in Oman to build a terminal at Muscat International Airport. Enka has 38.4 percent share in the project to be completed in 38 months, it said in a filing with the bourse after the close yesterday. Enka Insaat dropped 18 kurus, or 3.2 percent, to 5.44 liras.

Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS (TCELL TI): Turkey’s biggest mobile-phone company said fourth-quarter profit rose 46 percent to 368.1 million liras, aided by a drop in charges and provisions, according to a PRNewswire statement yesterday. The profit missed an average estimate of 442.6 million liras in a Bloomberg survey. Turkcell fell 10 kurus, or 1 percent, to 10.15 liras.
