Spanish Stocks: Acerinox, Clinica Baviera, Gamesa, Red Electrica

Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 1.7 percent to 10,829.1 at 12:54 p.m. in Madrid. Portugal’s PSI-20 Index added 0.3 percent to 7,945.81.

The following companies rose or fell in Spanish trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.

Acerinox SA (ACX SM) gained 3.9 percent to 13.25 euros. The stainless steel producer reported a profit of 122.7 million euros ($169.2 million), compared with a net loss of 229.2 million euros a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Clinica Baviera SA (CBAV SM) climbed 2.3 percent to 8.40 euros. The eye health care company posted 2010 net income of 5.22 million euros from 1.86 million euros a year ago as sales rose to 89.68 million from 83.14 million euros, according to a regulatory filing.

Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA (GAM SM) jumped 4.8 percent to 5.96 euros. The wind energy company posted 2010 net profit of 50.19 million euros compared with analysts’ estimates of 49.3 million euros, according to a regulatory filing.

Red Electrica Corp. SA (REE SM) gained 2 percent to 38.51 euros. The manager of Spain’s power grid said full-year net income rose 18 percent to 390 million euros.
