Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 12:30 p.m. lunch break in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 3.59, or 0.4 percent, to 990.80.
Country Group Securities Pcl (CGS TB), a Thai stock brokerage, climbed 6.9 percent to 0.93 baht, its biggest gain since Oct. 1. The company said it plans to pay a dividend of 0.1 baht per share.
Laguna Resorts & Hotels Pcl (LRH TB), a hotel operator, rose 5.4 percent to 63.25 baht, headed for a record close. The company said full-year profit surged to 1.41 billion baht in 2010 from 133.4 million baht a year earlier.
Ratchthani Leasing Pcl (THANI TB), the provider of auto loans, jumped 4.4 percent to 1.65 baht, its biggest increase since Jan. 26. The company reported full-year net income doubled to 204.2 million baht.
PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP TB), Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, climbed 2.9 percent to 179.5 baht, set for the highest close since Nov. 23. Crude oil in New York traded near the highest level in more than two years as a violent uprising in Libya threatened to disrupt supplies.
