Toyota Says Fire Extinguished at Prius Factory

Toyota Motor Corp. said a fire has been extinguished at its Tsutsumi factory in Aichi, central Japan, where it makes Prius hybrids and Camry sedans. The factory is operating normally, spokeswoman Shiori Hashimoto said by phone.

A part of the factory’s ceiling caught fire at 9:50 a.m. today and was extinguised around noon, she said.

One parts-production line, which had been suspended as the fire department investigated the cause of the incident, resumed operations before 3 p.m. today, she said.
