Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are at the 12:30 p.m. lunch break in Bangkok.
The SET Index rose 14.99, or 1.6 percent, to 964.56.
Advanced Info Service Pcl (ADVANC TB), Thailand’s biggest mobile phone company, climbed 2.5 percent to 82.25 baht, set for the steepest advance since Nov. 4. Advanced Info will take a dispute with state-owned TOT Pcl to an arbitration panel, the company said in a regulatory filing. TOT is pursuing 76.4 billion baht ($2.5 billion) from Advance Info in compensation, the state telecommunication company said on Feb. 1.
SiS Distribution (Thailand) Pcl (SIS TB), the supplier of computer accessories and mobile-phone handsets, rose 2.1 percent to 14.7 baht. Net income in 2010 increased 22 percent to 295.3 million baht, or 1.44 baht a share.
Thai Stanley Electric Pcl (STANLY TB), the nation’s largest publicly traded maker of auto parts by market value, gained 2.8 percent to 165.5 baht, the steepest advance since Jan. 26. The company said profit in the quarter ended Dec. 31 climbed 19 percent to 341.9 million baht, or 4.46 baht a share.
