The Netherlands’ AEX-Index dropped 1.88, or 0.5 percent, to 368.73 as of 2:43 p.m. in Amsterdam, erasing yesterday’s advance. The gauge is heading for a weekly increase of 0.9 percent. Belgium’s Bel20 Index fell 0.2 percent to 2,696.57 today.
The following were among the most active stocks in Benelux markets today. Symbols are in parentheses.
AFC Ajax NV (AJAX NA) added 2.3 percent to 6.80 euros. Former players including Johan Cruijff and Piet Keizer will give the only publicly traded Dutch soccer club and four-time winner of the European Cup advice on technical issues as members of a sounding board.
Nutreco NV (NUO NA) advanced 5.1 percent to 54.56 euros, the biggest jump in 18 months. The world’s biggest maker of fish feed will start a 35 million-euro ($47 million), 650,000 share buyback program today.
Separately, Nutreco’s price estimate was raised to 52 euros from 47 euros at SNS Securities.
Cofinimmo SA (COFB BB) gained 0.8 percent to 99.39 euros, paring yesterday’s drop. Belgium’s biggest real-estate fund said its 2010 net profit more than doubled and it kept its dividend unchanged.
KBC Groep NV (KBC BB) lost 2.2 percent to 29.54 euros, falling for a third day. Belgium’s biggest bank and insurer had its recommendation lowered to “neutral” from “buy” at Natixis SA.
RealDolmen NV (REA BB) slumped 3.2 percent to 16.15 euros, ending four days of gains. The Belgian computer-services firm created in a 2008 merger forecast “limited” revenue growth in the fiscal full year 2010-11.
