Rousseff Prefers Boeing Jets for Brazil Air Force, Reuters Says
Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff told U.S. officials that Boeing Co.’s F-18 is the best option for the nation’s Air Force, Reuters reported, citing unidentified people with knowledge of her Feb. 7 conversation with U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner.
Brazil is trying to improve the terms involving the transfer of technology, Reuters said.
Brazil’s government is also assessing offers from Dassault Aviation SA and Saab AB to supply new planes for the country’s Air Force.
Press officials at Brazil’s presidential palace didn’t immediately respond to a telephone request by Bloomberg for comment.
