MPX Energia SA (MPXE3 BS) jumped 4.6 percent to 32.16 reais. An initial public offering of the company’s Colombian coal business may generate between $4 billion and $6 billion, controlling shareholder Eike Batista said today on a conference call.
Net Servicos de Comunicacao SA (NETC4 BS) rose 2.5 percent to 17.75 reais. Brazil’s biggest cable-TV provider posted fourth-quarter net income of 133 million reais ($79.8 million), according to a regulatory filing today.
Natura Cosmeticos SA (NATU3 BS) rose 0.6 percent to 42.10 reais. Avon Products Inc., a rival of Natura in Brazil, posted fourth-quarter sales and earnings below analysts’ projections due to delays filling orders in the country, Avon said yesterday in a statement.
