Zeon Method May Slash Carbon Nanotube Costs, Nikkei Says

Zeon Corp. will start making carbon nanotubes within a few months on a test basis using technology that slashes costs to one-thousandth their current level, the Nikkei newspaper reported, without saying where it got the information.

The method for producing the microscopic tubes, used to make more-efficient batteries, electronics and solar panels, is being developed with Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, according to the Nikkei.
