CBI Chief to Urge U.K. Not to Break Up Banks: Independent Says

John Cridland, the new director general of the Confederation of British Industry, will today urge the U.K. government not to break up the country’s largest banks, the Independent reported. Cridland will say that such a move would see the U.K. putting “itself at a significant competitive disadvantage,” the newspaper said, without saying in what forum Cridland will be presenting his views.
