Huntsman Reports Power Failure at Texas Chemical Plant

Huntsman Corp. reported a power failure at its Port Neches, Texas, chemical plant that caused operating unit outages across the site, according to a filing with state regulators. Power has been re-established, according to the report.

“Startups of the various units are progressing well and we expect all units to be on spec by end of the day," Gary Chapman, a company spokesman based in Houston, said in an e-mail today. No one was hurt and the cause is being investigated, he said.

The Huntsman Port Neches plant is 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Houston.
