Samart Corp. and Loxley Pcl gained in Bangkok trading as the companies began bidding for a project to expand a 17.4 billion baht ($562 million) high-speed mobile- phone network for Thailand’s state-owned TOT Pcl.
Samart, a telecommunication service provider, rose 6.7 percent to 8.75 baht as of 10:25 a.m. local time, set for the largest gain since Sept. 22. Loxley advanced 6.9 percent to 2.80 baht.
The companies are bidding in a group including Huawei Technologies Co. and Nokia Siemens, Arnon Tubtiang, TOT’s senior executive vice president, said on Jan. 10. A competing group includes Advanced Information Technology Pcl and a unit of Alcatel-Lucent SA.
