Zambia Annual Inflation Accelerates to 9% in December, State Agency Says

Zambia’s inflation accelerated to 9 percent in January on an increase in grain prices, acting Director of the Central Statistical Office John Kalumbi said.

The annual rate jumped from 7.9 percent a month earlier with the price of grain rising by 2.6 percent in the month, Kalumbi told reporters today in the capital, Lusaka.
