The Ipsa index rose 0.1 percent to 4,875.66.
Banco de Chile (CHILE CC) fell 1.9 percent to 71.59 pesos, the most in more than a week. Chile’s second-largest lender has lost 2.6 percent since shareholders approved yesterday a 240 billion-peso ($487.6 million) capital increase. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. reiterated a “sell” rating on the stock in a note to clients today.
Empresas Iansa SA (IANSA CC) gained 1.8 percent to 76.54 pesos, the steepest increase in more than a week. Chile’s largest sugar producer lifted productivity to a record last year, Chief Executive Officer Jose Luis Irarrazaval said in an interview.
Empresas La Polar SA (LAPOLAR CC) retreated 3.1 percent to 3,069.50 pesos. The department-store operator has lost 4.5 percent in the two days since announcing the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Ramirez.
Sonda SA (SONDA CC) rose 3.2 percent to 1,238 pesos, the largest increase in three weeks. Chile’s largest information technology company may post a 28 percent increase in fourth- quarter profit, Santiago-based brokerage firm Celfin Capital SA wrote in an e-mailed note to clients today.
