Citigroup to Name John Havens as President, COO, WSJ Says

Citigroup Inc. will name John Havens president and chief operating officer as part of a structural overhaul in the bank’s top executive ranks, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Havens, 54, is a longtime colleague of Chief Executive Officer Vikram Pandit and his appointment will mean half the 18 senior executives who currently report to Pandit will now deal with Havens, the newspaper said.

James Forese, who spent 25 years with Salomon Brothers before Citigroup acquired it in 1998, will have greater control over institutional business after being promoted from his current job as co-head of global markets, the WSJ said.
