Zimbabwe’s Ncube Says Zuma Role ‘Disgraceful,’ Independent Says

South African President Jacob Zuma’s lack of progress in ending Zimbabwe’s political crisis is “nothing short of disgraceful,” Welshman Ncube, newly-elected president of a faction of the Movement for Democratic Change, told the Zimbabwe Independent.

South Africa and the Southern African Development Community should have shown more commitment to finding a lasting solution to Zimbabwe’s political impasse, the Harare-based weekly said on its website today, citing Ncube.

Zuma’s lack of action has helped President Robert Mugabe’s Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front increase its “stranglehold” on Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Independent cited Ncube as saying.
