Kaieda Expects Prices to Remain Flat Next Fiscal Year After CPI Revision

Japanese Economy Minister Banri Kaieda said he still expects consumer prices to stay unchanged in the year starting April 1 even after the government conducts a regular revision of the price index.
Kaieda told a news conference today in Tokyo that he’s aware that market participants expect the revision to weaken the outlook for consumer prices. He said he still wants prices to rise next fiscal year.
