Rostowski Says Poland Would Not Be Comfortable Joining the Euro at Present

Polish Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski said that his country wouldn’t be comfortable joining the euro region at present.

“We don’t fulfill the criteria, but it is true many institutional issues have to be addressed within the euro zone before we would feel comfortable joining,” Rostowski said in an interview today in Paris.

Asked whether he thought some euro members might leave the single currency, he said this was “out of the question.”

“I don’t think anyone in their wildest dream would imagine something like that happening,” Rostowski said.
