Harvard Love, Savoy Grill, Dionne Warwick Sings: London Weekend
One Harvard University student woos another on campus -- and they get no help from Facebook.
“Love Story” plots the story of a rich jock who weds a poor music student against formidable odds. Adapted from the 1970 tearjerker starring Ryan O’Neal, the musical has the same sad storyline, plus some good songs.
“Love Story” is at the Duchess Theatre, Catherine Street, London WC2B 5LA. Information: http://www.nimaxtheatres.co.uk or +44-844-412-4659.
The Savoy Grill on the Strand is a short walk from the Duchess. This just-refurbished Art Deco restaurant is a treat to eat in, with pretheater tables from 5:30 p.m. daily. Past diners include Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. Information: http://www.gordonramsay.com/thesavoygrill/
Saturday
The onetime cover artist of the Saturday Evening Post has a big show in London.
Norman Rockwell offers consistently cheery visions of America -- a world of ruddy cheeks, roast turkey, and dutiful housewives. You’d never guess the man was a lifelong depressive.
“Norman Rockwell’s America” is at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, London, through March 27.

Saturday Night
The Cirque du Soleil takes you right back to your roots with “Totem,” its latest spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall.
Tracking human evolution from its amphibian beginnings, the troupe performs its signature somersaults, leaps and juggles wearing primitive animal skins and reptilian bodysuits.
The show ends Feb. 17 at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AP. Information: http://www.cirquedusoleil.com or +44-845-401-5045.
Cassis, a new bistro strong on Provence food and wine, is nearby. Head chef David Escobar comes from the three-Michelin- star Lameloise, near Dijon, and dishes may include a choice of homemade pates, fig chutney and country bread (8 pounds, $12.47). Owner Marlon Abela’s businesses include A Voce in New York, and Morton’s club, the Greenhouse and Umu in London.
Cassis is at 232-236 Brompton Road. Information: +44-20- 7581-1101 or http://www.cassisbistro.co.uk/
