Zambia Seeking Partners for Gem, Gold, Silver, Coal Exploration
Zambia, Africa’s largest copper producer, said it’s seeking investors to help its state-owned mining company search for diamonds, gold, silver, manganese, coal and rare earth metals.
Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Investment Holdings Plc wants local and foreign partners to help it explore for commodities across six prospecting licenses covering an area of more than 3,200 square kilometers (1,990 square miles), it said in an advertisement today in the Lusaka-based Post newspaper.
Zambia, which earns about 70 percent of its foreign currency receipts from sales of copper, owns about 88 percent of Zambia Consolidated.
