Dynegy Inc., a Houston-based power producer, restored output at generating units in Southern California.
The company’s 146-megawatt South Bay Unit 1 and 149.6- megawatt Unit 2 were operating at capacity as of 3:15 p.m. local time yesterday after being completely idled at the same time Dec. 31, the California Independent System Operator said in a report. The curtailments were planned.
One megawatt can power about 800 typical U.S. homes.
