Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is building a $1 billion palace in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, paid for with money donated by Russian businessmen, Vedomosti said, citing Sergey Kolesnikov, a St. Petersburg entrepreneur.
Kolesnikov last week sent an open letter to President Dmitry Medvedev calling him to investigate the matter, Vedomosti said.
Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, dismissed the report ascribing the property to Putin, according to Vedomosti.
