Indonesia Stocks: Aneka Tambang, Bank Rakyat, London Sumatra

Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite index gained 34.73 points, or 1 percent, to 3,659.66 at the 4 p.m. local-time close, advancing for a second day.

PT Aneka Tambang (ANTM IJ), an Indonesian gold and nickel producer, advanced 3.1 percent to 2,475 rupiah, the steepest increase since Dec. 1. Gold advanced for a third day. Immediate- delivery gold increased as much as 0.6 percent to $1,391.95 an ounce and was at $1,391.25 at 12:51 p.m. in Tokyo.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI IJ), Indonesia’s second- largest bank by assets, added 3.9 percent to 10,600 rupiah. Bank Rakyat and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BBNI IJ) are among four Indonesian lenders that provided a $116 million loan to PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, Bambang Dwiyanto, a spokesman at the Indonesian state utility said. Bank Negara Indonesia climbed 1.4 percent to 3,700 rupiah.

PT Perusahaan Perkebunan London Sumatra Indonesia (LSIP IJ), the nation’s second-largest plantation company, advanced 2.9 percent to 12,350 rupiah. Palm oil futures gained as much as 1 percent to 3,792 ringgit ($1,226) a metric ton in Kuala Lumpur, rising for a seventh straight day and set for the highest close in 33 months.
