GREATER CHINA DAYBOOK: Hutchison Whampoa, Cheung Kong Project

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will issue a report on the nation’s efforts to crack down on corruption at 3 p.m. today in Beijing.

Senior Chinese leaders were briefed on the report yesterday during a meeting chaired by President Hu Jintao, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. Premier Wen Jiabao said in an October interview with CNN that he was concerned China’s stability may be threatened by corruption and inflation.

The Communist Party of China will celebrate the 90th anniversary of its founding next year, according to Xinhua.

* Taiwan’s central bank to release November Bounced Check Ratio
at 4:20 p.m.

     EQUITY MOVERS:

* Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. (13 HK) and Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd.
plan a residential/commercial development in Chongqing.
* China Railway Group Ltd. said it has won 16 projects worth a
combined 20.5 billion yuan.
