Malpass Says Unemployment Rate in U.S. Will Remain Above 9%

Economist David Malpass, president and founder of research firm Encima Global in New York, said the U.S. unemployment rate will remain above 9 percent next year.

“We’re going to go through slow job growth in 2011,” Malpass, a one-time candidate for New York governor, said today in an interview on Bloomberg Radio’s “Bloomberg Surveillance” program with Tom Keene.
