Health-Care Reform Essential to Fixing U.S. Budget, Tyson Says

White House adviser Laura D’Andrea Tyson, a professor of economics at the University of California- Berkeley, said “health-care reform is an essential part of solving our long-term fiscal problem.”

A federal judge in Richmond, Virginia, today ruled unconstitutional the Obama administration’s requirement that most citizens maintain minimum health coverage.

“I hope that that finding of the judge, which will be reviewed by higher courts, will be overturned,” Tyson said today in an interview on Bloomberg Radio’s “The Hays Advantage” with Kathleen Hays.
