American Knox Says She’s Victim of ‘Enormous Mistake,’ AP Says

Amanda Knox, the American student convicted of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher in Italy in 2007, said she’s the innocent victim of an “enormous mistake,” the Associated Press reported.

Addressing an Italian appeals court today, Knox said she’s not the “dangerous, diabolical” person described by prosecutors, AP said. She was convicted in 2009 of murdering Kercher and sentenced to 26 years in prison. Her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, who was sentenced to 25 years for Kercher’s murder, is also on trial.
