Philip Brook Is Appointed New Chairman of All England Lawn Tennis Club

The All England Lawn Tennis Club, which hosts the Wimbledon Championships, appointed Philip Brook as its new chairman.

Brook, previously the club’s vice chairman, replaces Tim Phillips, who’s retired after 11 years, the club said in an e-mailed statement today.

Brook, 54, is a former captain of the tennis team at Cambridge University, where he studied mathematics. He’s also a former partner at consultant Towers Watson and retired from the company after 18 years in 2009.

The Wimbledon Championships will be held June 20 through July 3 next year.
