Israel’s TA-25 Index advanced for a fifth day, gaining 0.8 percent to a record 1,295.16 at the 4:30 p.m. close in Tel Aviv. Investors traded about 2.01 billion shekels ($556 million) in shares and convertible securities.

Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL IT) increased to the highest level in more than two years, advancing 4.1 percent to 58.50 shekels. The company which extracts minerals from the Dead Sea to make fertilizer offered to buy a unit of Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. for $270 million.
Israel Discount Bank Ltd. (DSCT IT) rose to the highest since April 15, adding 2.8 percent to 8 shekels. The country’s third-largest lender raised 263.8 million shekels ($73 million) by selling shares to the public.
