‘Window’ Closed for Landesbank Mergers, State Premier Tells FTD
The window of opportunity for mergers among German state-owned lenders has closed, the Financial Times Deutschland reported, citing Hannelore Kraft, prime minister of the country’s state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
North Rhine-Westphalia owns a stake in WestLB AG, the Dusseldorf-based lender that’s up for sale.
