MetLife Has ‘Underspent’ on Ads, Relies on Snoopy, CEO Says

MetLife Inc., the insurer that uses the cartoon dog Snoopy to tout its brand, may increase its advertising budget.

“MetLife has underspent in the area of advertising,” Chief Executive Officer Robert Henrikson said today at a conference in New York, where the insurer is based. “It’s one thing to be No. 1, but if nobody recognizes you as such, you’re underspending.”
