Greek Communists to Spurn Strauss-Kahn, Rehn, Athens Agency Says

Members of Greece’s Communist Party parliamentary caucus will boycott appearances by Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the International Monetary Fund’s managing director, and European Union Commissioner Olli Rehn at the Greek parliament’s economic affairs committee this week, the Athens News Agency reported.

The party said there’s no reason to attend since key decisions on wage cuts, layoffs and changes to collective bargaining agreements have been predetermined, the state-run news agency reported. Instead, the party urged workers to join a general strike planned for Dec. 15, the news agency said.
