Volkswagen AG will create 50,000 jobs globally by 2015 as it expands sales to 10 million vehicles per year from the current 7 million, Handelsblatt said, citing Horst Neumann, responsible for personnel on the management board.

Between 5,000 and 6,000 jobs will be based in Germany, while others will be created in China and the U.S., the newspaper cites Neumann as saying.

The carmaker also plan to permanently hire some of its 20,000 temporary workers, according to the newspaper.
