Qatari Stocks Surge as Much as 7.8% as Country Wins Bid to Host World Cup

Qatari stocks jumped as much as 7.8 percent in early trading after the country won the rights to host the 2022 soccer World Cup.

The benchmark index surged 7.7 percent to 8,818.64, the highest intraday level since October 2008, at 10:06 a.m. in Doha. All 20 shares in the gauge advanced.
